Tata Motors has released its sales figures for June 2022. The carmaker sold 45,197 passenger vehicles last month, which is its highest sales in a single month. Not only this, the interesting thing is that the company has also recorded its highest-ever monthly electric vehicle sales during this period. As of June 2022, Tata Motors has sold 3,507 EVs in India. This is a massive increase of 433 percent annually. In the same period last year, the domestic carmaker’s EV sales stood at just 658 units. Moreover, the company registered a MoM growth of 2 percent in June 2022 as it managed to sell 3,454 EVs in the month of May this year.

The company is currently selling three electric cars, which are Tigor EV, Nexon EV, and Nexon EV Max. The Tigor EV from Tata Motors offers a driving range of 306 km per charge. This is the claim of the company. Currently, its starting price is Rs 12.49 lakh, ex-showroom. At the same time, according to Tata, the Nexon EV gives a range of 312 km per charge while its Max version gives a range of 437 km per charge. Their prices start at Rs 14.79 lakh and Rs 17.74 lakh ex-showroom respectively.

Other companies are also working on electric cars

At present, Tata Motors is one of those companies in India, which is offering the cheapest electric cars. But, in the coming time, many other companies can also bring budget-friendly EV cars. Maruti Suzuki is also working on electric cars in India. Along with this, Mahindra is also focusing on electric cars and the work that is going on. Both of them are moving ahead with plans to bring affordable electric cars to India.
